Rebuilding and remolding!
Verse for Today: Thursday, May 03, 2012
Psalms 127:1 - Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman keeps awakes in vain.
People are engaged in some building process all through their lives. They build their livelihood, family, profession and status through the means that are under their control. But they keep tearing down what they have built and switch to some other structures with a different design. Their plans and programs change as circumstances, situations and technology change. They try to build copy other structures so that they can have what others have and even overtake other people’s achievements. Little do they realize that all their achievements here on earth to satisfy their earthly cravings will end here! King Solomon was such a man who achieved great material prosperity, fame and pleasure in life and found at the end of his life that it was all vanity. We find such people in the business, entertainment, sports and professional worlds. But if we hand over the building of our lives here on earth to God, He will build us up with an eternal perspective. It is far more important that we build a life which will follow us in eternity rather than end here on earth. But our human wisdom and understanding will not be sufficient to make such eternal structures with our lives. We need the complete involvement of God to make a lasting structure out of our lives. Our health, wealth, fame and friendship will end with this life, but what we allow God to build with our lives will last forever. We must give God free hand to build us according to His plan, purpose and program. When God builds our lives and character, there will be no failures or losses. Our failures are often because we try to become smart and build our lives in our own strength. We have to acknowledge God as the perfect builder and the guard of our lives. In other words, we need to take our hands off our lives and give God full freedom to design and build it so that it would yield eternally impacted results. If we surrender our earthly pattern of building to God, He will break it and remold it to fit His perfect plan. His purpose in saving us and building up our character, lives, families, churches and ministries, children and career are all for His glory.
Dear reader, are you frustrated today, thinking that the more you build and watch, the greater are your failures? You probably don't seem to be any where near your goals in life. Perhaps, you find more road blocks and snags in the process of building and watching. It is time you take a break and spend time with the Lord and His Word, to see what has gone wrong. It is important that fully surrender to the Lord, and to His building plan. Admitting and confessing the failures in our own building process which we do in our strengths and wisdom is the first step in getting back to the divine building plan. Let God’s hands break and rebuild us according as it pleases Him. The Lord will gladly take your life over and start the rebuilding process. No matter how hopeless and shattered your life and situations seem to be, there is still hope for you in Jesus. He will rebuild and reshape you according to His Master Plan. Remember, how He rebuilt the lives of Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, David, Job, Peter and John Mark and made their lives in later years to be great examples for us to take courage and strength. He will start the process of rebuilding even the most shattered life on earth if it is surrendered fully to Him. Today let us take the challenge to stop building and watching in our strength, but to join the team of the Triune God to be our builder and watcher. Remember, He completes all that He starts in perfection.
John 10:10 – The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
