UPROOTING ANXIETY!!

Uprooting anxiety!
Verse for Today: Monday, December 10, 2012
2 Chronicles 32:07 – Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria and the vast army with him, for there is a greater power with us than with him.

The right understanding of our resources is a buffer when enemies attack us. We can be confident that with God on our side, we are stronger than any enemy who confronts us. But this realization comes to us only through divine wisdom and understanding. The presence of God with us makes all the difference no matter how few our material resources are. Our God fights our battles for us and assures us of victory. But He is more concerned about our inner battle with fears and anxiety. Once these inner negative forces are subdued, we can focus on the enemy of external situations. Remember, our fears often push us to succumb to defeat. But when we take courage in our God and get ourselves filled with His strength through His Spirit, we will be able to face the inner of fear and discouragement in the name of Jesus and enjoy victory. When the Spirit controls our sanctified thoughts and imaginations, we will be able to see what our God will do for us in times of need. King Hezekiah had such confidence in God because he believed in God’s power. Today we can be confident that our God is with us to drive away all our fears and anxiety and fill us with courage and strength to face our situations. When God’s Spirit enlightens our hearts, we will be able to see that we are the greatest force with God on our side. This confidence comes to us by faith in the might of our God.

Dear reader, are you faced with brutally powerful enemies of fear and anxiety that try to shatter you? Are these enemies showing their fierce and ugly face to terrify you and take away all your confidence in life? But don’t forget that you are in the hands of your God who is fighting your enemy from your side. Your future is all marked out by God according to His eternal plans for you. Your trust in God will drive away your anxiety about your tomorrows. No matter how fierce your situation is, it will not scare you away if you put all our trust in God.  Your God never changes His promises which hold true over and above your seemingly hopeless circumstances and situations. Fear drives us to grope in a dark and hopeless future and leaves us blind and helpless, but our God takes us by His hands and leads us to bright hope in Him. Anxiety pushes us to get exasperated about our future needs and leaves us hopeless. But God’s children who put their hope and trust in God finds help to face the powerful psychological enemies of fear and anxiety and subdue them. Joseph had such hope in the promises of God which strengthened him to keep going while in the pit and in the prison. The trust he had in God kept Daniel hopeful while spending a night with hungry lions. The Hebrew youth were encompassed around by their God when they were in the fiery furnace. David put all his faith in His God in the depth of hopelessness when he was pursued by enemies all around. Paul was encouraged by God’s promises when he was under attack by a series of human and psychological foes. Hezekiah had the faith that his God who was with him was much bigger than all his enemies put together.  Today this God is our God too and He takes us by His powerful hands to lead us forward. His promises are for us today if we are committed to appropriate it with dependence and trust in Him. Once we leave our future with God, it is His blessed privilege and prerogative to lead us forward to meeting our needs while helping us to fight our greatest fears and anxieties.

Psalms 48:14 – For this God is our God forever and ever; He will be our guide even to the end.

Thought for Today
God erects a wall around us with His promises to enable us to live without fear and anxiety.
