Compassion, concern and care!
Verse for Today: Wednesday, January 08, 2014
Matthew 9:36 - Seeing the
multitude, Jesus felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and
dispirited like sheep without a shepherd.
Everyday thousands of people pass
by in this world without finding compassion and care in life. Their intrinsic
needs are not understood or addressed by anyone. When we see people, we only
see their appearance and do not know much of their emotional and spiritual needs.
The religions and philosophies of the world also do not understand the deep-rooted
emotional and spiritual problems of people neither do they have any answers for
their concerns. But Jesus sees our hearts and knows our genuine emotional and
spiritual needs. He understands our whole person with all our needs and battles
in life. He takes pity on us in our battered and bruised life. He wants to give
us a happy and contented life in spite of our circumstances. He has the panacea
for all our emotional, spiritual and physical ills. He comes to blot away our
stress and tensions. He is strong enough to carry our burdens. He cares for us in
ways that we do not always understand. He changes our attitudes about our situations
and at the same time makes necessary changes to our situations as well. He
makes all things work together for our good. Jesus is our Shepherd who leads us
to His green pastures and cool waters and makes us to lie down and take rest
under the shadow and coolness of His cross. He is the only true shepherd and
all others who pretend to help us are thieves and murderers. Today Jesus
desires that we go to Him with our burdens, distress, anguishes, pain, misery
and despair and get healing for our emotional hurts. He will heal our sin
sickness and emotional wounds and give us comfort and joy. Remember, Jesus is the
Balm of Gilead to take away all our ailments and make us whole.
Dear friend, are you distressed
and dispirited today because of the heavy burdens you carry in life? Is there unbearable
emotional baggage on your shoulders? Are you encountering stiff spiritual
battles and craving for deliverance? Take courage, because Jesus knows it all
and He is much concerned about it. He has compassion on you. He wants to heal
you and make you whole again. He will carry your burdens if you allow Him. He
wants to give you heavenly bread to take away your spiritual hunger and living
water to quench your spiritual thirst. He offers it all free as He has already
paid for it through His death Calvary’s cross. But you must go to Him and admit
the hurts and aches in your emotional, spiritual and physical realms. You must
confess that Jesus is the only answer to all your ailments and surrender your
life to Him completely. The techniques and wisdom of the world to deal in your situations
are incapable to bring forth the desirable result and will leave you in utter
frustration. But Jesus will give you relief and deliverance and refresh your
life. He will give you contentment and comfort in His presence. Your education,
knowledge, wealth, expertise and mastery of technology will lead you to frustration
and despair. But Jesus will help you and lead you forward. Today Jesus is
asking you to give your life with all its needs, problems and concerns to Him for
restoration and remolding. He will give you the grace and strength to handle
all life situations. He will help you to trust Him in all your situations. Your
problems and situations are His personal concern today. Your well-being is His
good pleasure. Today is your opportunity to rebuild your life at the hands of
the Master Designer and Builder.
Matthew 11:28 – Come to Me,
all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Thought for Today
Compassion of Jesus carries us
forward with all our burdens and gives us peace and rest.
Prayer for Today
Dear Lord Jesus: Help me to
submit myself with all my burdens and concerns and find relief and restoration
in You. Amen!
