FEAR OF THE INFINITE MAN OR THE FINITE GOD?

Verse for Today
Hebrews 13:6 - So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?"

If we know the majesty and power of our Lord, and if we have a personal relationship with Him, we would be able to find and enjoy absolute security under His wings. Once we know for sure that we are under His personal observation, care, protection and mighty power, we would not need to be afraid of the enemies who try to devour us. It is simply because the enemy cannot even touch us while we are under His wings. The best the enemy can do is to try to pretend to attack us and roar to terrorize us. But that is all the lion, the enemy of ours, can do against us, but it is chained and is not given the authority or power to touch the children of God. The enemy will try to prevent help from coming to us through his influence in our environment. But our Lord and His power will remove the hindrances, and impact the environment to help us. The Lord will shut the mouth of lions, quench the power of fire, calm the storms and waves and give us the safety of His presence. When we are conscious of such a great protection from our Lord, there is no need for us to be afraid of the enemy. The Lord's Spirit will give us confidence to smile at the storms. We are given the power to tell the hindrances to move from our way in the name of our Lord. When we pray that hindrances be removed, our Lord will do it. This is why Satan trembles when he sees a praying believer. He knows very well that the Heavenly Father will grant the requests of His children and protect them under His arms where no storm will reach. When the believer is thus filled with the confidence and courage from the Lord, he will be in a position to challenge the powers of darkness in the name of the Lord that nothing can be done by Satan or his agents to him. Quite often, Satan will use other human beings to create greatest stumbling blocks and fears for us. But we do not need to be afraid of these road blocks of anxiety, mockery and corresponding fear, but feel secure and safe in the arms of Jesus.

Dear friend, are you confronted by the tactics of the enemy in creating fear in you about your life and daily walk? Is he roaring like a lion to make you afraid? There is no need for you to be afraid, because the enemy is not powerful enough to match the safety walls erected around you by the Lord. His arrows cannot penetrate the tower in which you are safely abiding. The enemy is only trying to rattle the sabre, but it will not reach you. When we read the pages of the Bible, we see that the enemy tried to do away with God's choicest servants like Joseph, David, Nehemiah, Paul, Peter and John. The enemy even tired to annihilate the Son of God several times, but could not be successful. The power of God which prevented the enemy from doing away with Jesus is the same power that is used by the Father in Heaven to protect us also from the enemy. When we are willing to be contented with what the Lord gives us to meet our needs, the enemy will come and challenge us to make more and go after the material things the world is offering to make us rich. When we refuse to do so, he will use his agents in this world including other people to call us unintelligent and thoughtless people who have no foresight about future eventualities and darker days ahead. But even at that time, we need to tell the enemy and his agents, flesh and world, not to give us worldly material progress, and that we are not afraid of a rainy day that they expect in their lives. If there is a rainy day in our lives, we need to reassure ourselves that it is known to the Lord and that He will protect us from the ill-effects of any such eventualities. So we can boldly tell the enemy not to mock or ridicule us about our material wealth and depravity. If we are poor in this world, it is for the sake of the Lord and His Word, but we are not poor at all. We are the children of the King of kings and that our Father owns all that is seen by the naked eyes. Not only that, we are already given the immeasurable wealth of Heaven which no eyes have seen, nor ears heard, nor thought by any person in his heart. Our wealth is not measured by what we have in this world which is perishable, but what we have in store in Heaven where it will never be lost or undervalued. So today let us be courageous and live boldly by faith in our Lord to meet all our needs on a daily basis. He will give us the rest of our wealth when we reach our eternal home.

Psalms 27:1 - The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the defense of my life; whom shall I dread?

Thought for Today
We are the inheritors of the glorious, graceful, unsearchable, immeasurable and inexhaustible riches in Heaven.
