Immanuel's People

Verse for Today: Thursday, November 04, 2010

Psalms 46:11 - The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold.

There can be no greater confidence in our lives than the reassurance that the Lord of hosts is with us all the time. His presence is with us during the day time and at night. He walks with us and talks with us all the time. He is our traveling companion who lives with us at the same time. He is our provider and keeper. He shows us the way and helps us not to sidetrack. He is with us in all our weaknesses to make us stronger. He is with us in our sickness. He is with us in our failures, to turn our loss into gain and success. He fights our battles and helps us to take the plunder. He establishes our coming and going. The Lord is our most intimate partner in all that we are and all that we do. He is not our accuser and is not a fault finder, but He gently reminds us about how to go forward. He helps us to correct our ways. In our weaknesses, He shows loving kindness and compassion and comes us to wash away the mess that we create in our affairs. Even when we pay for our sins through the consequences, He extends to us His grace so that we will learn from Him. He is our best teacher who makes us learn life principles and valuable lessons about life and about Him. He fights with our enemies for us and helps us go unhurt in the battle. At the same time, He uses us to fight His battle and makes us instruments in His loving hands. Sometimes He reprimands us and rebukes us, but it is done in utmost love. He loves us at all times, and guides us in His everlasting love to walk worthy of the call with which we are called. He is our stronghold when we loose all hope in life and when we are defeated by the enemy in practical lives. So we do not need to be shaken all the days of our lives. His holy presence with us makes us live with courage and confidence and face all eventualities with His resources. He is our leader, guide, counselor, physician, father, shepherd, keeper, partner and strong pillar to help us face the realities of life and live for His glory. He wants us to respond to Him through the way we live today.

Dear friend, how conscious are you about the presence of the Lord with you all the time today, and every day? If He is so close and abides with us, how do we respond to Him all through the day? Do we consult Him about all our needs, desires, plans, programs, likes, dislikes, attitudes, fears, battles and weaknesses? Are we making Him work in all of these areas of our lives or are we running our lives the way we want? If the Lord of hosts is with us and if His resources are made available to us, are we making use of these resources to live a confident and courageous life when we face rough patches of life today? If not, we are at a permanent loss. If He fights our battles, how can we be afraid of the events in life? If He is guiding us, how can we ignore His signals and go after the ways of the world? If He lives in our hearts how can we say what is unbecoming of Him and His character? If He provides for us, how can we go hungry because we are expected not only to live by bread alone, but by every word which comes out of His mouth? When the Lord is with us, we ought to live as if we are in Heaven every moment of our lives which will exemplify His character and nature. It is the Lord's desire that we are changed into His likeness each day of our lives. He wants us to be walking Christs in this world on His behalf and make a blessing to others. For this, we need to be blessing to ourselves first through all the blessings of the Heavenly places. Let us today live with the realization that the Lord is with us and He leads us in His ways to walk like children of the Heavenly King. May this way of life be exhibited in and through us, in a life without anxiety and fear and walk with the Lord to march forward as victorious procession!

Isaiah 41:10 - So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Thought for Today
Those who have the Immanuel with them have a life full of thrill and absolute contentment, without fear or fret.
