Victory: Past, Present & Future

Verse for Today: Tuesday, November 02, 2010

Psalms 44:3 - It was not by their sword that they won the land, nor did their arm bring them victory; it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your face, for you loved them.

God's Word has recorded what He has done for His children from the beginning. These testimonies of care, help, support, strength, deliverance and victories are recorded for the weary souls to gain confidence when they go through tough patches in life. They have the Lord with them to take them through the dark valleys of life, as in the case of their forefathers. The God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Job, David, Gideon, Elijah, Elisha, Paul and Timothy is alive today and He is in the business of looking after His beloved children. The God who gave water to Ishmael and visions to Jacob is our God too. The God who enlarged Jacob and the one who lifted Joseph up from the dungeon to the position of the Prime Minister of Egypt is our God as well. Today we can taste and see that the God of Elijah is good. He makes us sing songs about Him as our good shepherd who makes us lack nothing. His arm is there to work for us. His light is there to show us the way. His chariots are there to march forward for us from victory to victory. His ravens and widows are still around to feed us in drought and desert. When we go through difficulties, we can look at what our Lord has done for our forefathers and get courage and confidence to keep going. He has sustained us so far and will not leave us orphans on the way and make us destitute. His leading is on a daily basis so that we would not need to be anxious about our tomorrows. Our tomorrows are in His hands and they blossom each day with new challenges and newer graces. Light falls on us from His face to shine our faces each day without being ashamed in the presence of our enemies. We have reached thus far only by His grace. This God is our beloved Lord who is our provider, sustainer and leader shepherd. So there is every reason for us to rejoice in Him in the midst of any circumstance

Dear friend, there is really no need for you to fret and become anxious today about any thing. Anxiety is a human emotion and it can be busted by faith and trust in the Lord. Otherwise, anxiety will cause us to be shaken in our faith in the Lord. Each time this human emotion comes to abound in us, we need to give it to the Lord and He will take it graciously. Come to think of it, what is it that we have accomplished in our lives through our own merit? It is all through grace and all grace and nothing but grace which is the grace and loving kindness of our Lord towards us who are unworthy. He has made us worthy through His death on the cross of Calvary and continues to strengthen us to become victorious children to face all odds in life with utmost confidence and courage. He gives such confidence at the right time in the face of our gravest needs and keep us going. Remember, we have the privilege to lean on to His chest and confide in Him as we go through this wilderness with songs in the night and day time. Our tents are to abound in joyful celebration of His love and care. Our dwelling places ought to have perennial orchestration of His grace through Psalms, hymns and spiritual songs for all that He has done for us and all that He is going to do for us. God has given millions of spiritual songs in almost all known languages for His children to sing and sooth their souls because these songs are all testimonies of how the Lord has touched the lives of other saints. Just as we will not exhaust singing all these wonderful hymns of testimonies here on earth, we will never get exhausted singing about His grace when we see Him face to face.

Psalms 48:14 - For this God is our God for ever and ever; He will be our guide even to the end.

Thought for Today
God of our fathers is alive and well and He continues to make our lives to overflow with His goodness all the days of our lives.
